Camping Menus
These are menus the boys have come up at various meetings.
Preparing food at camp is generally a compromise between nutrition and
convenience. Except when car camping, avoid anything that needs
refrigeration, and we usually avoid using stoves at lunchtime.
Breakfast
- Oatmeal (instant), juice or milk, hot chocolate
- Breakfast sausage (heat-and-serve), eggs, orange juice
- B'fast burritos (sausage, egg, cheese)
- Granola bars and an apple
- Cereal, milk, banana
- Eggo waffles with peanut butter
- Peach pancakes, syrup, bacon, canned juice
Lunch
- Sandwiches, chips, cookies, tang
- Peanut butter & jelly, celery sticks
- French dip (roast beef on french bread with hot au jus sauce)
- Trail mix and cool-aid
Dinner
- Chili dogs, tang, cookies
- Ramen with precooked meat or jerky (foil dinner)
- Macaroni and cheese, carrot sticks
- Burritos
- Smoky joes
- Adult selection: chicken in curry sauce w/ basmati rice
- Adult selection: steak fajitas, guacamole
